Jon's Health

 It was a rough winter for Jon.  It started in early December with some tightness and swelling in his hand.  A few days later he woke up with his entire right arm extremely swollen and red.  It was so large he could not get a sweatshirt on.  It was shocking.  He ended up going to the Emergency Room twice that week and after lots of blood work, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.  They found he had a strain of blood clots running from his neck down through is right arm, as well as clots in both lungs.  He was put on blood thinners immediately, but they were not working quick enough.  He then had a procedure done at the hospital where they directly inserted strong blood thinners into his arm through a catheter.  He was in the hospital with this med drip for two days.  The doctor then went in microscopically and broke up the remainder of the clots.  So, he is now clot free!  

During all this we learned he has Paget Schroetter Syndrome, which in short was caused from playing lots of tennis.  In order to prevent the clots from returning he had to have a second hospital visit and procedure to remove his upper right rib.  It was all a huge shock and lots of stress during December and January.   We are very happy he is now healthy and has fully recovered!
