Starting Solids

This weekend we started Colbie on rice cereal and she did excellent!  She ate it quickly, happily, and with very little mess.  I even made her a second serving.  I shouldn't be surprised that she enjoyed it so much as she has been giving us the signs that she is ready for solids: she puts everything in her mouth and watches us very intensely when we eat then mimics our chewing motion.  I hope she enjoys veggies just as much=)

Here comes the first bite!

Easy enough

I like it Mom!

Or do I?

More Please.

All done and very happy!

She also loves her new pink spoon and bowl

I'm a big girl now=)

Giggle Video

I can't get enough of this adorable giggle!  Please excuse my video taping skills, It is the first time we have used the video on our camera.

5 Months

I think this has been my favorite month so far.  We are really starting to see her personality shine through and it’s amazing how much she learns and changes every day!
*I can’t get enough of her giggle!  I can just get my hands close to her and she will anticipate being tickled and giggle away, so cute!
*She has found her thumb (something she got from me).  So far she really only sucks it while sleeping.  When we lay her down for bed she immediately rolls over onto her right side and sticks her right thumb in her mouth.  She is very easy to put to bed at night and sleeps 11-12 hours, lucky us!
*Naps are another story.  We have started trying to get her to nap in her crib (instead of in the swing or someone’s arms) and it’s going okay.  Tears from both mom and baby the first day, this girl hates napping!
*She now stays awake during walks and outings and talks (squeals) loudly, it’s hard not to be noticed at Target, at least she’s happy=)
*She needs to spend about 30min with an unfamiliar face but then welcomes them as long as mom is close by
*Sucks on her toes and puts everything in her mouth especially her favorite toy which is a giant diamond ring (smart girl).  Big thanks to whoever got us this toy (I can’t remember), she loves it!
*Her hair has started growing back finally and it is so soft and fuzzy.  It’s still hard to tell what color it will be.
*Rolls both ways.
*Loves standing (with help of course).  When I help pull her into a standing position after being changed, she is so proud of herself.
*Loves Itsby Bitsy Spider!  No joke, this girl can go from full tears to a huge grin when she hears this song.  And don’t try to trick her.  No other song will do, we have tried!
*Still eats every 2 hours, I am looking forward to starting rice cereal very soon=)

*Still has a fussy period from about 5-8pm each night, this will end soon, right?

Vikings Fan

Of course Colbie is already a dedicated Vikings fan.  Although the Vikes have started off the season a little rough we still plan to wear our vikings gear each Sunday!  Here are some pictures of our little football fan=)  Colbie was also able to meet her Auntie Michelle this month.  It was so great to have Michelle visit and spend time with our little family.  We miss you Auntie Michelle!

Dad doesn't think the flower goes with the outfit, but I think it's cute!
