6 Months

6 months is a big day!  We are already half of the way to one year, It is going by so fast!  Some of Colbie's favorite things to do are playing with magazines, chewing on cardboard books, sucking on her Play Mat, sitting and playing in her toy basket, looking at herself in the mirror, practicing sitting alone and standing with help, rubbing her tag blankets while riding in the car and absolutely loves facing out in the front back (it is a life saver, thanks Auntie Cole)!

-Can sit up without help pretty well (lasts about 1 min before slowly falling over)
-We think her fussy evenings may be coming to an end, thank goodness!
-Has started squealing when happy, Dad calls her a baby pterodactyl
-Does not prefer the swing or exersaucer unfortunately
-Tries to grab everything in her sight, especially beverages and hair
-Still cries when new people get too close, we are on a mission of have others hold her more often
-Rubs her head/hair repeatedly while eating and when sleepy
-Still sleeps 12 hours at night but fights napping during the day
-Sucks her thumb while sleeping but has become slightly more attached to the pacifier since being sick

Our 6 month appointment went well.  We are reintroducing solids slowly and of course she had shots which made for a long evening!  Here our the stats for our little peanut and some pictures.

Weight: 13lbs 13 oz (12%)
Height: 2fit 1.5in (33%)
Head: 40.5 cm (6%)

This Play Mat is delicious=)

Magazine time with Daddy

I love these pj's on her, aren't they so cute?  Thanks Angela=)

Not feeling so good=(

So many toys and books to chose from

This girl loves smiling for pictures which makes me very happy!

Had to take this sweet photo.  It is rare for her to sleep during outings these days.

Even though Colbie is only in the 12 percentile for weight, I definitely see some chubby rolls

Sitting up like a big girl while mom gets my bath ready

I think this hat is adorable, thanks Alli and Izzy for such a cute hat!

Happy Squeal

Colbie has recently realized she has complete control over her voice and really enjoys squealing!  This sweet sound is what I wake up to each morning...at least she's happy!

Little Friends

We were able to get all three girls together this week.  The first photo shoot of many I'm sure.  Colbie loves her friends Nora and Charlotte and really enjoys spending time with her only 2 friends that are younger than she is=)

How cute are they?  Colbie 6 months, Charlotte 6 weeks, Nora 4 months

Many of the pics look like this, poor Charlotte is getting picked on already, I think Colbie just wanted her to wake up for the photos!

Finn was such a good sport joining the photo and helping support the girls!  I think Charlotte is flashing a sign=)

Colbie is such a ham...The girl loves to smile

Much better Charlotte you're awake!

My First Flu or Not.....

Unfortunately Colbie had her first experience with being sick.  I was hoping to start off with the sniffles or perhaps a minor soar throat, but instead she got the flu.  Is it even flu season yet....?

Colbie starting throwing up around 5:30pm on Tuesday and for a couple of hours she threw up every 30 minutes.  The first time it happened we thought maybe I had fed her too many sweet potatoes....it was day 3 of introducing solids (other than rice cereal).  As the trowing up continued I thought probably not.  Jon thought I was being crazy when I called the nurse hot line, but I was glad I did.  The nurse was super nice and very helpful.  It was definitely the flu and we had to just wait for the throwing up to stop then feed her 2 tablespoons of milk at a time until she kept it down.  Luckily only once she immediately threw up the 2 tablespoons.  So around 11pm I had successfully gotten 1oz of milk in her before she went to bed.  The poor girl was soooo tired she nearly fell asleep in the middle of throwing up, poor baby.  We felt so terrible for her, it is no fun to see your baby unhappy, and she seemed so confused.   She was up at 2am and 4am crying but went back to bed fairly easily, I thought the night would be much worse.  I of course did not sleep as I was so worried she would trow up in her sleep.  The next day she wouldn't let me put her down, but by day 3 she was back to herself and I was happy to take a long hot shower!

I would also like to note that all three of us have multiple pj's that are now stained orange, darn sweet potatoes!

Just three days after posting this we had another episode of vomiting.  We figured that it couldn't be the flu after all and were encouraged to take her to Urgent Care early the next morning (it was Friday evening) by the nurse on the phone.  So after a not so quick visit to Urgent Care they determined Colbie was constipated.  Apparently rice cereal can cause constipation.  She was throwing up because food couldn't make it out the other end, poor baby!  So we have taken a break from solids, have had no more vomiting, and she is no longer constipated!  We have her 6 month appointment next week and our curious to check in with her pediatrician about restarting solids and avoiding this problem in the future!

Prego baby outfit

Just over a year ago (late August) I found out I was pregnant.  We had no idea how much this news would change our lives and we are so thankful for the amazing blessing of our little girl.  I was very nervous to tell Jon I was pregnant (it happened much sooner than we had expected) so I bought the only outfit at Target I could find that said "daddy" and was not gender specific.  I wrapped it up and let Jon open it to reveal the big news......apparently it wasn't obvious.  I asked him do you know what this means?  He said "you like the outfit and you're excited we are trying?"  After the initial shock we laughed at how large and ugly the outfit was.....size 6 months we thought it would never fit!  Here are some pictures of Colbie in the outfit, she makes it pretty cute=)
