idiopathic subglottic stenosis

Well after nearly 8 years of thinking I have asthma I found out I have a very rare condition called idiopathic subglottic stenosis.  Which means I have an extremely small breathing airway.  After getting sick in December my breathing got really bad (my family called me Darth Vader) which made be get an appointment with a pulmonologist.  Who found out my lungs were fine and then sent me to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor.  The doctor was able to put a small tube up my nose and down my throat to my breathing path and get a photo and diagnose the problem.  I am so thankful to this doctor!  I had surgery in July where he lasered away inflammation, dilated the area, and gave me a steroid injection.  And although the anesthesia is a  nightmare for me I am so thankful for the surgery.  It has been truly life changing.  I can breathe again, and workout!  And no more inhaler.
