Maui was absolutely magical! Highlights included swimming at the pool, exploring multiple beaches, swimming with sea turtles, morning walks for kids (without us), coffee on the porch, and perfect weather! I could have stayed so much longer. The kids were ready to head home at the end because they missed their beds and the dog. It was such a great trip and so happy we finally got to take it!
Well, it happened, Covid hit our family. Colbie got it first (just a few days after her slumber party). She had a 103 fever and was very sick for about 3 days. Mostly achy, nauseous, and lethargic. Ashton and I got it quickly after. Ashton's fever was a little lower, but similar symptoms. He slept with a bowl all day and was two dizzy to even watch TV. The kids bounced back quickly though! I felt like my head was going to explode, was super tired, and had an awful cough. Jon ended up getting it about a week later and had mild cold like symptoms. It was a brutal week but were thankful we got it over with before Hawaii and that we didn't end up spreading it to anyone else (as far as we know)!
Colbie is definitely a pre-teen. She enjoys crafting, making her own jewelry, trying out new outfits and requested purple hair for her birthday. She continues to enjoy soccer and basketball. She has handled being in a 5th/6th split well and has made some good 6th grade friends. She has loved being back in school this year, she is very social. She often has a very messy room but spends lots of time in there. She is usually listening to music or a story on her Alexa Show, playing with fidgets or making something. She is spunky, confident, social, and always ready for an adventure.
