Colbie is a smart, spunky, confident, strong, independent girl! We are so proud of the little lady she's becoming. She does well in school and misses it so much (so do I)! She loves her friends, sports, Girl Scouts, sleeping in, reading, squishies, stuffed animals and TV . She has become quite the fashionista the past few weeks, but often has a sporty outfit underneath to ride bikes and play outside.
Her Favorites:
Color: yellow
Food: steak, bread and ice cream
Animal: dog (she really wants one) and snow leopards
Friends: Makenna, Scarlett and Charlotte
The words she uses to describe herself: creative, loving, kind, curious and sporty. I couldn't agree more! I would also add optimistic. She makes the most of each situation and always tries to find the bright side. Love her so much!
Happy 9th Birthday Beautiful Girl!

Quarantine Week 4
This week we learned that schools would be closed for the remainder of the school year. Even though I knew this was a good possibility the finality of it was very emotional, disappointing and overwhelming for us all. Ashton (and I) are so sad his Kinder year came to an end so abruptly. We miss Mrs. Spengler so much. He keeps saying "Why can't Mrs. Spengler be my teacher every year?"
We miss our family, friends, teachers, parks, shopping, organized sports and so much more. We also canceled our Maui trip this week.
Sadly seeing everyone in masks is the new norm, which to me is very creepy and depressing.
This week was "Spring Break" for the kids which meant teachers didn't assign any new work. I tried to make it fun. The kids came up with fun activities they wanted to do each day: ice cream sundaes for lunch, Spa Day (Colbie gave Ash and I pedicures), Game Day, and a sibling sleepover in the basement. We did our best!
A few things that did fill my bucket this week was a Zoom call with my class, the sunshine (the kids ran through the spikinler when it was 55 degress), and drinking White Claws (6 feet away) with Beth in her backyard to celebrate her birthday! We have also found it quite peaceful to watch the birds on our back deck (we got a new bird feeder) and paint rocks.

Tooth Fairy
Ashton lost his first (and second) tooth this week!! He doesn't show much excitement usually, but he was pretty excited about the $5 the Tooth Fairy left him for his first tooth and the cool toothless smile he has now. He pulled out his first one all by himself and came running upstairs excitedly. The second one came out while eating a Twix bar on Easter morning.

Quarantine Week 3
Week 3 - We started virtual learning through school. Overall it's going well, the kids enjoy doing work on the computer and seeing their teachers and friends on Zoom (although Ashy wont really talk to anyone yet). I gave Ashton a much needed haircut (he was not thrilled). We stayed busy this week with a new game and puzzle from Jon's parents, early Easter gifts from my mom, walks/hikes/bike rides, bubbles and water balloons, planting spring flowers, more reading and baking, and playing on the swings Jon installed in our basement.
We continue to stay healthy and sane!
