Quaratine Week 2
This week was a bit more challenging without the sun shining! But we made the most of it... Colbie made many batches of play-dough, daily bike rides/walks, doing lots of reading and snuggling (Colbie can not get enough snuggles from her brother), a better schedule for school time, a few short outings (picking up chrome books from school, getting new books from my school library, and a walk near the beach), early Easter Egg hunts, games, some intense karaoke, and of course lots of screen time!! Also I have started connecting with friends and family over Zoom, and although it was weird at first, I'm settling into this new normal and really enjoy these chats!

Corona Virus-Week1
Week 1 of the Corona Virus was pretty emotional and full of unknowns and changes. The first big news was the closure of all K-12 schools. My school/work attempted to stay open and we scrambled for childcare and a plan. That only lasted one day and Bloom too had to close. Our staff met briefly which really opened my eyes to the seriousness of not only peoples health, but the financial strain this would cause, and the struggles to so many small businesses. I am relieved to not be working right now (I was spending so much of my day sanitizing and making kids wash hands) and to be home with the kids. But I really miss my job, and the kids in my class so much. It has made me realize how close I have come to my co-workers and the love our owners have for all of us teachers. I'm happy to be a part of the Bloom Family and miss them.
The rules of quarantine seem to be changing daily which is hard for me and the kids. We spent the first week figuring out school at home (but not really doing much of it) enjoying the sunshine and playing with the neighbors (which can no longer happen). My goal for week 1 was to embrace our new normal, find joy in the small things and reassure the kids that we will be just fine.
So, we have enjoyed much more screen time, lots of reading, bird watching (Colbie puts food out for the birds daily), daily bike rides and walks, outdoor science experiments, lots of board games and puzzles and Colbie has started cooking and baking a ton. The kids are closer than ever, it has been so nice to see them come together during this. Colbie constantly snuggles and kisses Ashy all the time. And Ash can't wait for her to wake up each morning.
We are thankful for our health, our financial stability and a family of four who are getting along and staying positive (at least for now)! But I worry for so many others who are less fortunate.

Ashy's 100th day of Kindergarten
It was so fun to volunteer during Ashton's 100th day of school. His teacher is the best and had the cutest snack activity for them to do. I loved watching Ashy interact with all his school friends. Turns out he's quite the ladies man!
Harry Potter and Hermoine
Book character day at school. I could not believe Ashton dressed up!! We busted out his costume late the night before.
Basketball
Both kids enjoyed basketball this season and plan to play again next year. Colbie improved a ton this season, it was really fun to watch things click for her!
